Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical found in many commercial products
including food packaging materials like canned goods, baby bottles, toys, plastic
water bottles, and among others. In 2005, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention CDC, found BPA in the urine of about 95% of people tested. The
chemical has also been found in human blood, amniotic fluid, and cord blood.
Epidemiological studies also revealed a relationship between BPA exposure and
repeated miscarriage, heart disease and type 2 diabetes, obesity, asthma, thyroid
function, among many others.

- Never heat foods is plastic containers.
- Choose glass and stainless steel over plastic containers.
- Choose wooden or BPA-free toys.
- Cook from scratch.
- Limit packaged foods, especially canned foods.
