That Special Bone Broth.

Bone broth dates back to prehistoric times, and has recently become very popular especially among health-conscious individuals. Research finds that bone broths contain minerals in forms that our bodies can  easily absorb like magnesium, sulphur, phosphorus, calcium, silicon, and among  others. 

A study conducted by the University of Nebraska Medical Center found that the amino acids produced when making bone broth reduced inflammation in the respiratory system and improved digestion. No wonder it’s used as a remedy to combat colds and flu.

Research finds that by regularly drinking bone broth or using it in recipes, it provides treatment for leaky gut, cellulite reduction, asthma, improved joint pain, boost immunity, food intolerances and allergies, arthritis, and others.

Bone broth is also loaded with collagen, gelatin and trace minerals, as well as certain nutrients we cannot easily obtain from foods. 

You can prepare bone broth from many different kinds of bones from any animal like beef, chicken, fish, and among others.

Most store-bought bone broths use factory-farmed meat as well as monosodium glutamate (MSG), which is a neurotoxin to flavor their broths!

Recipe

1 whole chicken carcass

1 carrot (peeled and chopped)

1 yellow onion(diced)

2 stalks celery(chopped)

3 garlic cloves(chopped)

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp sea salt

1 cup parsley(chopped)

6 cups water

Instructions

Place the bones in the slow cooker. Add all remaining ingredients. Set slow cooker to low and let cook for 12 hours.

After 12 hours, strain the broth and discard the vegetables. Allow the broth to cool, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to four days and freeze for up to three months.
