My Berry Beet Smoothie Bowl is loaded with high-fiber, low-glycemic fruit and vegetable like berries and beets.
Fruits like berries are fabulous superfoods because they are high-fiber, and low glycemic fruits. These nutrient-dense fruits are high in antioxidants and fiber that they release their natural sugars slowly to our brains for energy as well as stabilize our blood sugar and keep our insulin levels low.
Beets are root vegetables, wonderfully rich in betacyanin which is a compound that helps reduce levels of homocysteine(an amino acid) that increases the risk of stroke and heart disease. Beets are wonderful for liver health due to their ability to cleanse the blood.
